General Manager Role

Responsibilities include:

  • Fundraising

  • Day to day running of the charity

  • Team support including recruitment coordination

  • Community engagement

  • Periodic reporting to the Trustees

Role Brief

We are looking for a General Manager to engage in fundraising activities and oversee the operations of the charity.

This includes balancing our counselling capacity with demand, administration of the charity and keeping the community engaged with our organisation. You should be a good communicator and very organised in your work.

Ultimately you’ll ensure that our operations are running smoothly and that the team is happy and able to deliver a high quality service for our clients.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Fundraising - Grant applications and other activities

  • Designing and implementing a monthly reporting system

  • Process improvement - monitoring and improvement of how we work

  • Community engagement - working with local organisations and businesses

  • Recruitment support - for counsellor and supervisor recruitment

  • Liaison with our counselling room providers on scheduling

  • Publishing of a regular newsletter for our community (4 per year)

  • Coordination of the periodic review and publishing of our policies

  • General administration of the charity (incl. quarterly meeting administration)


 

Role essentials:

The successful candidate will be proactive, very well organised and have an interest in supporting the charity’s work. They will have knowledge of the Google suite of applications (Google Drive, Docs, Gmail etc) and be comfortable working with a range of online tools. 

Role desirables:

As we are a support service, experience of a clinical environment and the sensitivities and confidentiality that this demands would be advantageous.

Experience of charity fundraising, particularly grant applications is also desirable.
 

Role details:

This is a part time role, with work expected to take 2.5-3 days per week, this can be delivered across the week as appropriate. It would suit anyone looking to fit a job in around other responsibilities.

Location: Work can be home based and there will also be meetings in the Tenterden area (Trustees meet at least 4 times a year). There will also be a need to visit the counselling location in Tenterden every so often to have an overview and liaise with the premises managers.

 

Salary: £35,000 FTE
